FROM SKULL TO SKINS
FROM SKULL TO SKINS focuses on human anatomy, specifically on 5 basic facial expressions :
Neutral, Fear, Surprise, Rage, Smile.
There are two editions for sale at the moment, the standard light-grey editions and the Oxidized Blue Copper.
The project counts 3 layers (muscles, fatpads and skins), each of which have been casts before adding the next one, resulting in a total of 26 items, including the original skull and a special edition 50/50 (half muscles half fatpads).
The five diffrents expressions were sculpted based on one casted original skull.
The +/-22 muscles of each face are nicely detailed with care.
These basic human expressions were realised following the FACS (Facial Action Coding System) which refers to a set of facial muscle mouvements corresponding to a displayed emotion.
AUs (Action Units) are the fondamental actions of individual or groups of muscles.
For exemple : rage expression display : AU 4 +AU 6 +AU 9 +AU 25 + AU 26
The collection counts 26 items including one skull, 5 expressions, 3 anatomical layers and 2 portraits by expression. There are for now, two available editions at the shop: Light Grey and Oxidized Blue Copper.
